Democrat policies forcing banks and financial institutions to eliminate Red Lining caused the crisis. The Dems forced banks, via legislation, to make loans to minority applicants who in a sane banking environment would never be granted a loan or a mortgage.

No. The bottom line reason for the banking crisis is deregulation. And that comes from Repukelicants like Phil Gramm.

No matter who tells you otherwise and hits you with hard facts, you’re going to want to believe whatever you want to believe. The good old Republican slogan, “Perception is everything and the truth is what you make of it.”

  6. No, you can lay it at Republican Phil Grahmm’s feet. But as usual cons will try to weasel out of any blame.

    Gosh you’re dumb.

You can lay it at the front steps of the private bank of the federal reserve and all their preditor banks they see over.

    Yes you may.

No bank was every asked to give a loan to someone who couldn’t afford it–the stupid banks did that on their own. What the were asked to do is not flatly refuse to finance any mortgages within specific geographic areas simply because mostly minorities lived there. That’s what red lining is, you moron. Get your facts straight if you want to troll…

  11. *sigh* Both parties can be blamed for this crisis. Not just the Dem’s. Even if legislation was passed that changed rules concerning Wal Street(during the Clinton Admin), the Republicans were the majority the first 6 years of the Bush Administration. Why didn’t they do anything to reverse it? I’m sorry, but they’re just as culpable.
