I am going to get a Bachelor of Science in Finance and am considering getting an MBA right away. Is it pretty necessary to have an MBA in this industry (I want to work at a big firm such as Goldman Sachs)?

My moms a doctor and my dad has his MBA. I know it only takes an MBA to become an I banker and the money gets better later on but I also want to go into spinal surgery. The surgery takes alot more school time and practice but I know its a guarenteed job that doesnt depend on the economy. Which one should I start to focus on I’m in high school now and I wouldnt mind doing either one.

I am looking at going into investment banking and am looking for colleges now. I am looking for something fairly reputable like Wharton or NYU but also some second choices were i to not get into those. I was also wondering if there is an advantage to actually getting an undergrad degree in finance as opposed to something like a generic business degree from somewhere like Harvard or Stanford. I’m really looking for some intermediate schools instead of all the very selective ones. I do have a 2200 SAT and 36 ACT but i really don’t know how far thats going to get me in one of those schools.

Ok I start college june 3rd I am going to get my Associates degree in Business management. I want to take the right classes so one day I can get into one of the following. banking,investments,management,financial analyst. can someone suggest the degrees or path I should take to get into one of those fields. Also if anyone knows starting salary’s for those fields can you please let me know.

I am planning on going to UCSB this fall and I was admitted with a Pre-Economics/Mathematics major. I want to end up working as an investment banker. Is it likely that a student from UCSB can land an investment banking job after college? Is it bad to go to UCSB if I want to do investment banking?

i want to get into investment banking, and will be applying for universities this year, but i dont want to study the subject in uni. do i have to do a degree in something business related or can i do something like engineering or physics and still get into investment banking? if yes, which is better to do engineering or physics > if you’re planning to go into investment banking after anyway.
