Sure the airlines had a really good excuse for losing customers but the bailout didn’t do any good for the majority.

It’s not really, the bailout is hopeless…

All the bail out is doing is prolonging the recession of the American economy. This will place us in a depression in around 2-5 years. The inflation of this country is incredibly huge(not a good thing), we are in debt, yet we just ask the Federal reserve to print us up more money, rather than returning to the gold standard were, we will still hurt, but for not as long.

In general, a financial collapse is much worse than the bamkruptcies of a few airlines. There is a minor wrinkle in that domestic airlines serve a role in the US military, always on call by law to be commandeered by the military for transport purposes in time of national emergency. In other words, the US military feels that a functioning airline system is part of national security. Other than that, airlines are just ordinary businesses. A financial panic, on the other hand, is a big deal, something to avoid. It could cascade throughout the economy, and throughout the world.

bailouts have usually resulted in profits for the U.S. government such as the Chrysler, and New York city bailouts because the intrest is going to benefit the consumers of the assets.
