how long does transfers take to reach a bank via internet banking?

I am waiting on some money my friend transfered money on saturday into my account but she is with a different back to me how long approx does it take for the money to be in my account? We are both from australia. Money was transfered from sydney to melbourne

    takes 5-10 days for a money transfer from two different banks. If the banks were the same company like say Halifax to Halifax then it can be quicker. Sydney to melbourne makes no difference as it is just an electronic transaction.

    Typically, 3 work (don’t count Saturday, Sunday, and holidays) days. It should be there by Thursday (Saturday is the same as Monday to a bank, Monday + 3 days equals Thursday). But it could be shorter or longer if your account is new or has had repeated overdrafts.
