I have 2 degrees in International Finance and Accounting from a Top school in the West. I am 28 years old and I have 3 years of work experience as an Accountant, I have taken the CPA exam but I am not licensed because i need a MBA. I am thinking of getting my MBA in 2 years and I want to venture into Investment Banking. Can anyone tell me if this is going to be a good career change? Is there a future in Investment banking with all our current economic woes?

  1. Free Twitter Buttons

right now would be a very bad time, when investors’ confidence is very low. perhaps in two years hence, the conditions may change – and the investment climate be bright again.

  2. Depends where you want to work. Though Investment bankers are getting flack for the mess they have created, you can be sure they will come up with something new to make money.

People will always need money, so you can be sure investment banking is going to be around for a long time to come.

They get paid well too, you can always diversify into Fund Management or other areas of finance, if you see the situation is not that good in 2 years time.

    Go for it!
