There’s not any reason to even worry about it. Just delete it and move on. They use fake email return addresses and are very hard to track. Typically, the people sending these emails are in some African country and there is not way for US officials to go after them. If they name some specific US bank or company, you can always forward the email to that company at (insert the name of the bank or company where I put the word “company.”)

You should contact your bank directly. Most banks have procedures for how to protect their customers with such instances. Find out what your bank prefers you do, such as print the email and mail it in via snail mail to a Fraud Alert Department.
Do NOT reply to the email, it could have a virus attached to it. Better yet if you see a suspicious one do not even open it in the first place.
I have seen these in the past where a pretty legitimate looking email came in making reference to a recent credit card transaction and to provide more info. NEVER do that!
The only time you should be providing some of your bank info is if you initiated the request. Always get a phone number, name of the person whom are talking to and be cautious. Unfortunately the world has people out there who have malicious intents and want to take people’s identities or just wreak havoc on the Internet.
Be careful. Good Luck!

I just send an email back that says fraud, fraud, fraud and then they stop bothering me for a while. They come out of Nigeria.
