Who were the heads of the House and Senate Banking Committees leading up to the subprime loan crisis?

Who led these committees during the last 4 -5 years? Also, did they try to stop sub-prime lending?
I am specifically asking for the names of: 1) the Dem Chairmen and the ranking Dems when the GOP was in charge; and 2) the GOP Chairmen before the Dems regained control and the ranking GOP’ers since the Dems regained control.
